We know that safe and supportive housing is almost impossible to come by! That’s why we created the Lewis County Maternity House.

Our story

In 2023 Cooks Hill began to look for ways to help make a dent in the housing crisis for a vulnerable group of people. But our heart was not just for housing; it was for a holistic approach to support. Out of that desire, the Lewis County Maternity House idea was born. The Lewis County Maternity House offers a haven for pregnant women in need of community, a home and support.

The LC Maternity House provides supportive housing, mentorship and food, plus connections to birth classes, doula services, life application skills training, gardening on site, easy access to a bus line and walking distance to Centralia College. Moms living onsite are encouraged and helped on their journey through healthy community, developing a crisis plan, receiving support during their pregnancy and birth and planning to launch out on their own.
